before and after - couch. there will be joy

Hey, Peeps!

The sun is shining today and it's not freezing outside and I could use a little color splash. So, I gathered some pillows and throws from around this shack, and now part of the living room (the couch) is swimming in color again.

Here's a before of the couch. Before meaning... it had gone to the dogs. Literally. A couple of the cushions have been chewed on from when Beefy Boy was a puppy. No surprise there. That's what they do. They. chew. shit. up. Just look at this. Blah. Drab. Downer. Boring. I'm so bored. eww... I don't love it like this.

That's why couch covers were invented. And washing machines. And dryers. And patience.

Color. I gotta have it. And I've gotta have things I love. I've gotta have things that make me feel good, make me smile. (I gotta have more cow-bell) Things I love usually don't match. Don't match your stuff! Pick out what you love and let it just go together. It's so much more interesting like that. Don't be skeered. Do you, baby.

Different textures. Different colors. Different things. I don't know. It works for me.

Pizzazzzz. You have a drum. It's yours. Your own beat! Play that sucker!

Have fun with what you have. Pull different things from all over your house. Everything you see here was thrifted. Except for the frame and the pot. TJ Max ~ we love.

Feels a little more like Spring in here today. I woke to birds chirping and green popping up through the dirt, taking a peek. Is it Spring yet? Not yet, but not long now.

Do you, Baby.

Sometimes, during or after a hard time, this is what I do. I push forward. Push through. Somewhere in my being I force joy. Maybe my core will catch on to that joy and it will flow easily.
Is that nuts? Am I nuts? It seems a little nuts to me. It's my thing though. I gotta do me.

I hope your cat is well/feeling better now.
Those furry babies can be a mess, but totally worth it. :)
